Readio for iOS · Last updated: April 16, 2026
Readio fetches web articles you provide, extracts their text, and reads them aloud using your device's built-in text-to-speech engine. That's it.
Readio collects no personal data whatsoever. Specifically:
Readio connects to the internet only to:
These requests go directly to the websites you choose to add. Readio has no servers and no backend — your data never passes through us.
All articles, playlists, playback history, and exported audio files are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you have iCloud enabled, your data may sync across your personal devices through your own iCloud account — Apple's privacy policy governs that sync.
Readio may detect if your clipboard contains a URL when you open the Add Article screen, to offer a quick-add shortcut. The clipboard content is checked locally and is never transmitted anywhere. You can always paste manually instead.
Readio uses zero third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising frameworks. The only external dependency is SwiftSoup (an open-source HTML parser) which runs entirely on-device.
Readio does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. Since no data is collected at all, no special provisions are necessary.
If this policy is ever updated, the changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Since Readio collects no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
